Summary
The Boatel features nine double bedrooms, each ingeniously crafted within transformed industrial containers, a cozy covered lounge for breakfast and aperitifs, and an upper deck adaptable as a solarium or event space. Guided by the studio’s concept development, the design reimagines these industrial elements into refined, luxurious interiors, while the electric engine ensures a quiet, eco-conscious navigation that harmonizes with the natural surroundings.
Challenge
Reinventing a former barge into a floating luxury destination required a delicate balance of structural adaptation, spatial comfort, and sustainable innovation. Each container needed to be transformed into a welcoming, high-end cabin while preserving the vessel’s stability, functionality, and eco-friendly ethos.
Solutions
Through a careful interplay of form, material, and spatial design, the studio shaped the interiors and communal areas to enhance both comfort and aesthetic appeal. The use of industrial containers as cabins, the sustainable modernization of the hull, and the integration of an electric engine collectively create a floating environment where innovation, elegance, and environmental awareness coexist, offering guests an unforgettable experience on the water.
