Concept and Creative Direction: Italo Rota
More
Summary
The master plan integrates multiple layers of activity: urban villas nestled in a bamboo forest, a covered park designed for flexible use, commercial spaces, and workshops—all connected by pedestrian pathways and restricted-access electric vehicles. In collaboration with Italo Rota, our studio guided the development of the concept and preliminary design, exploring how spatial organization, architectural form, and natural elements could converge to create an ecosystem of mutual care between people and their environment.
Challenge
Designing a sustainable and self-contained urban ecosystem within a former industrial area presented the challenge of balancing human activity with ecological sensitivity. The layout needed to support diverse functions while fostering a sense of serenity, accessibility, and environmental stewardship.
Solutions
Our approach involved shaping spatial relationships, circulation patterns, and architectural forms that harmonize with the surrounding bamboo forest and green areas. By conceptualizing living spaces, recreational zones, and communal areas as interconnected elements of an ecological narrative, the studio’s work contributed to a vision where architecture encourages sustainable lifestyles and a meaningful connection with nature.
