Summary
Inside the pavilion, visitors encounter the infinite desert, the miracle of water, the country’s hospitality, and its global commitment to food security. Our studio collaborated closely with Italo Rota, contributing to the preliminary design development and construction supervision, shaping spatial sequences, visual language, and experiential flows that enhance the narrative and bring Kuwait’s identity vividly to life.
Challenge
The challenge lay in creating a pavilion that is both symbolic and functional, where architectural forms, exhibition content, and visitor circulation coalesce into a cohesive and engaging experience. The design needed to balance cultural storytelling with structural clarity and a memorable spatial impact.
Solutions
Through careful orchestration of form, materials, and exhibition layout, the studio helped translate conceptual ideas into tangible experiences. The dynamic volumes inspired by dhow ships guide the visitor journey, while thoughtful spatial planning ensures clarity and immersion. The resulting pavilion offers a narrative-rich environment where culture, heritage, and design converge seamlessly.
